FROM GROUND ZERO: STORIES FROM GAZA is a collection of compelling short films from 22 Palestinian filmmakers living through the war in Gaza. Each film, ranging in length from 3 to 6 minutes, presents a unique perspective on the diverse experiences of life in the Palestinian enclave, including challenges, tragedies, and moments of resilience its people face. Using a mix of genres, including fiction, documentary, docu-fiction, animation, and experimental cinema, From Ground Zero provides a rich diversity of stories that reflect the sorrow, joy, and hope inherent in Gazan life. Despite the bleak filming conditions, Gaza's vibrant artistic scene shines throughout this collection, offering an intimate and powerful portrait of daily life and the enduring spirit of its people.

FROM GROUND ZERO is Palestine's official submission for the 2025 Academy Awards and was shortlisted for the Best International Feature Oscar on Dec. 17, putting it one step closer to the nomination. It is also the first release from Watermelon Pictures, a newly created, Palestinian-owned film production and distribution company rooted in creative resistance.
