Relay (2025) is a sleek, modern thriller that feels like a total throwback to the suspense-driven movies of the ‘90s—and in this Relay movie review, I’ll break down how this film works as both a tense character piece and a high-tech cat-and-mouse game, even if it wasn’t entirely for me.
In this Relay (2025) review, we’ll talk about how Riz Ahmed delivers a strong and measured performance as the lead—bringing quiet intensity and control to a movie that leans on mood and tension more than big action or spectacle. His performance anchors Relay, and it’s clear he knows exactly what kind of movie he’s in.
One of the most intriguing elements of Relay is its use of the Relay communication system, which the filmmakers turn into both a clever narrative device and a metaphor. It adds real texture to the film’s themes of control, distance, and trust—making this more than just a genre exercise. The way the system is integrated into the plot is both beautiful and unnerving.
