From Apple Original Films and the filmmakers from Top Gun: Maverick comes the high-octane, action-packed feature film F1® The Movie, starring Brad Pitt and directed by Joseph Kosinski. The film is produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, Kosinski, seven-time FORMULA 1® world champion Lewis Hamilton, Pitt, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner and Chad Oman.

Dubbed “the greatest that never was,” Sonny Hayes (Brad Pitt) was FORMULA 1’s most promising phenom of the 1990s until an accident on the track nearly ended his career. Thirty years later, he’s a nomadic racer-for-hire when he’s approached by his former teammate Ruben Cervantes (Javier Bardem), owner of a struggling FORMULA 1 team that is on the verge of collapse. Ruben convinces Sonny to come back to FORMULA 1 for one last shot at saving the team and being the best in the world. He’ll drive alongside Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris), the team's hotshot rookie intent on setting his own pace. But as the engines roar, Sonny’s past catches up with him and he finds that in FORMULA 1, your teammate is your fiercest competition—and the road to redemption is not something you can travel alone.

F1® The Movie also stars Damson Idris, Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies, Kim Bodnia, and Javier Bardem, and was shot during actual Grand Prix weekends as the team competed against the titans of the sport.

Kosinski directs from a screenplay by Ehren Kruger, story by Kosinski & Kruger. The film is executive produced by Daniel Lupi. Collaborating with Kosinski behind the scenes are his creative team, including director of photography Claudio Miranda, production designers Mark Tildesley and Ben Munro, editor Stephen Mirrione, costume designer Julian Day, casting director Lucy Bevan and composer Hans Zimmer.

⁣On Earth-828 in 1964, the world commemorates the fourth anniversary of astronauts Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Ben Grimm, and Johnny Storm becoming the superhero team known as the Fantastic Four after they acquired superhuman abilities from exposure to cosmic rays during a space mission. Since that time, the team has risen to celebrity status and battled supervillains, while Reed's inventions have advanced technology and Sue's diplomatic efforts through the Future Foundation have resulted in demilitarization and peace across much of the globe. When Reed and Sue announce that they are expecting a child, the world eagerly anticipates the new arrival and wonders if the child will inherit superpowers.

Months later, the Silver Surfer arrives on Earth and proclaims that it has been designated for destruction by Galactus, a cosmic entity that devours planets. Reed investigates the vanishing of other planets and confirms this assertion, prompting the team to venture back into space to prevent Galactus from reaching Earth. They trace the Silver Surfer's energy signature and, utilizing faster-than-light (FTL) travel, arrive at a new planet just as it is obliterated by Galactus's ship. The team is captured and taken to Galactus, who discloses that he possesses an unquenchable hunger that has compelled him to consume planets for ages. Galactus perceives that Reed and Sue's unborn child harbors immense cosmic power and could potentially satiate his hunger, liberating him from it. He proposes to spare Earth in exchange for the child and induces Sue to go into labor. The team declines the offer and escapes from the ship. By harnessing the gravity of a neutron star, which damages their FTL system, the team stalls the pursuing Silver Surfer and propels themselves back to Earth. Sue gives birth to a son, Franklin, during their journey.

Upon their return to Earth a month later, Reed discloses the specifics of their encounter at a press conference. Their choice to save one child over the billions of other inhabitants on Earth incites a public uproar, with many demanding that Franklin be sacrificed to Galactus. Johnny starts to decode the Silver Surfer's message.

Unbeknownst to him, this was merely a diversion to steal a device known as the "P.L.O.T. Device" from a safe deposit box. Police Chief Davis decides to reassign Drebin when his excessive law enforcement tactics become a legal risk. While honoring his father, Frank Drebin Sr., he prays for a sign of approval from him.

Drebin looks into the fatal car crash of software engineer Simon Davenport, initially ruling it a suicide, but he discovers a matchbook at the scene. Simon's sister, Beth, a crime novelist, disagrees with this conclusion, but Drebin advises her against further investigation. Drebin encounters Richard Cane, Simon's affluent employer at Edentech, during a tech expo. After they bond over their mutual admiration for the Black Eyed Peas, Cane donates a self-driving electric car to the Police Squad, which causes chaos with Drebin at the wheel, and suggests his exclusive nightclub. Drebin realizes that the matchbook from Simon's crash site bears the same logo as the nightclub.

Cane privately reveals his plan to use the stolen P.L.O.T. ("Primordial Law of Toughness") Device to regress humanity to its primitive state, thereby reducing the population for his billionaire associates, who will be safe in a bunker to govern. While interrogating one of the bank robbers, Drebin uncovers information about the deposit box, which belonged to Simon, linking the two investigations. At Cane's club, Beth distracts Cane with her improvised, terrible scat singing while Drebin battles numerous goons to access security footage, revealing that Simon had a secret meeting with a journalist. Davis suspends Drebin for insubordination. Beth remains with the disheartened Drebin, and he contemplates finally letting go of the memories of his deceased wife. Drebin and Beth enjoy a romantic weekend at an alpine lodge. They engage in a threesome with a magical, animated snowman, but the snowman turns violent when they ignore it.

The whole European angle was very important for us, not only story wise but also the way we were going to produce it. It really had to be a European collaboration, not just cast but also crew. We felt that with the past years of Europe being on the decline, we wanted to give a counterpoint to Brexit, and to nationalism rising in different countries, to go back to that idea of Europe and Europeans working and creating together.
