Józef, przemierzając oniryczne przestrzenie, stara się odnaleźć go i zrozumieć, ale ojciec jawi się jako postać enigmatyczna, zanurzona w fantasmagorycznym świecie własnych wizji i obsesji. Powieść pełna jest nostalgii, poczucia utraty i prób uchwycenia minionego czasu.

Sanatorium Under the Sign of the Hourglass by Bruno Schulz is a surreal tale about Józef, who visits a sanatorium where time flows in a nonlinear way. A central theme is the relationship between the son and his father—although the father has already passed away, he continues to exist in the novel’s world, revived by the strange rules of time. As Józef wanders through dreamlike spaces, he tries to find and understand his father, but the figure remains enigmatic, immersed in a phantasmagorical world of his own visions and obsessions. The novel is filled with nostalgia, a sense of loss, and an attempt to grasp the past.
